RCI is a vacation exchange company, not a timeshare resort. Founded in 1974, it allows owners at affiliated resorts to exchange eligible weeks or points for other vacation accommodation.

RCI's current US website describes access to more than 3,600 affiliated resorts in 100 countries, as well as hotels and other travel products. RCI forms part of the Panorama group within Travel + Leisure Co.

RCI membership versus your underlying timeshare

This distinction is essential. Cancelling or not renewing an RCI exchange membership does not normally cancel the timeshare, deed, points product or maintenance-fee obligation at the owner's home resort.

If the underlying ownership is the real problem, that resort or club contract needs to be reviewed separately. ACC can identify the home ownership and assess the appropriate exit route.

Why owners look for a way out

  • Exchange fees and membership costs no longer provide enough value.
  • The owner cannot find suitable exchange availability for the destinations or dates wanted.
  • The underlying home-resort timeshare is no longer wanted.
  • The owner has stopped using RCI but maintenance fees at the home resort continue.
  • The owner wants to simplify several memberships, exchange products or vacation ownership commitments.

Want to exit the timeshare behind your RCI membership?

ACC has extensive experience with RCI-linked ownerships. Where we accept a cancellation case under our service, we guarantee the agreed cancellation outcome; the first step is identifying whether the contract to be cancelled is RCI itself or the underlying timeshare.
